In 2008, the instrumental band Signals was first formed by Toshiyuki Terui (Acoustic Guitar) with Yuji Katsui (Electric Violin), and Kyoichi Shiino (Drums). The same year, they released their first album Lapis Sky and hit the road, touring the nation and making appearances at rock festivals.
In 2009, they released their second album, the light, the shadow, the satellite.
In 2011, the band downsized to two members, Terui and Shiino, and brought on guest musicians to help create their third album Naked Fool.
In 2018, the band welcomed a new official member Sakana Hosomi (E.piano & Organ) to carry on as Signals, returning to the lab as a three-piece band to record their fourth album.
The next year in 2019, they released the two-part album Moon Fiction, staking their claim as an unparalleled, one-of-a-kind band. As of today, 2022, they no longer play together.
